A Year of Impact

Hello friends!

What a wild and incredible year this has been. We are 2 years (and 2 weeks!) into running this business together, and I am grateful for you every single day.  

I wanted to share an update with you on our business and the impact you have been able to make this year.

To be completely transparent, we had a rough start to 2021. We lived through another wave of the pandemic that devastated South Asia. In just our second year of business, we had to shut down our operations in Bangladesh again from April through September to prioritize the health and safety of our artisans.

Throughout this pandemic, we didn't know if our small business would survive. And now, because of you, not only are we still standing, we are growing. 

We demonstrated our community’s grit and resilience by completing a crowdfunding campaign to support our artisans this year and to create new jobs in the upcoming year. Your support through this crowdfunding campaign and soap sales kept 28 artisans safe, healthy, and employed through six months of uncertainty. Your impact kept 28 families safe, healthy, and fed.

Though your bath bomb purchases, we donated money to open a school in a rural Bangladeshi village and supported the purchases of school supplies for 217 students.

This is all because of YOU.

If you purchased from 700 Rivers, gave to our crowdfunding campaign, or shared our story with a friend, I hope you know that we were able to accomplish everything we did this year because of you. 

And to end the year on a high-note, I’m excited to announce that 700 Rivers just won a grant that can be used to grow our impact even more next year!

Cheers to 2022. We cannot wait to see all that we can accomplish together next year too.
